Indonesian Cultural Night with ESN VMU

As I had mentioned on my previous post about my Erasmus semester in Kaunas, I managed to present my country in Cultural Night, organized by Erasmus Student Network of Vytautas Magnus University. If you missed how great my Erasmus period was, you may check it out here.

Indeed, As the first Indonesian student who had been studying in VMU, I had a huge burden to make a blast impression on the first Indonesian Cultural Night in Kaunas. Although I was alone, I had so several Erasmus Students who were ready to help me in some projects.

However, the show wouldn’t be started if I didn’t invited the audience. Therefore, I made this cool video about the expectations for my presentation.

When people come, I know that they want to have a memory about this event. The best way to do it was by photo. I wore traditional Indonesian clothes and fabric, “Kebaya” and “Batik”. It did attract some people to take a photo together :D.

To present my country, I also carried on some projects with other Erasmus students.

The first project was Indonesian Batik Photoshoot that was created in collaboration with Karolina Aliukaitė, Katerina Kornienko, and Yana Galiuk. I had already posted about this awesome project. Indeed, it’s still available to read about it ;). By a single click here:

Then I made a national anthem video “Indonesia Raya”, sung by several Erasmus students.

Of course, the tummy matter is always important in every occasion. I was lucky to have the best chef as my roommate, Vendula Karásková.

With her help, I could make the outlandish feast :3

Martabak Telor (made of eggs and leeks), Sop Buah (Fruit Punch), Bolen Pisang (Banana Pastry)

Last but not least, exotic animal! Well, I had to abduct my friend’s Ilama for this :p…

Oh yeah, in this Cultural Night, there were also other countries which are Cuba and Argentina. So habanera met guitar 😉

After my presentation, the puzzle of Cultural Night in Spring 2012 was completed.

I didn’t forget to ask souvenirs to remember about that fabulous night.

I was so proud about my country because I had so many things to show that night. Indeed, I also would like to thank the international students who came. As for me, it was a pleasant to share my culture with them.

Travel and exchange cultures!
